Henderson County describes the sheriff's approximately 216-bed jail as serving pretrial detainees and convicted people. The Sheriff’s Department also transports prisoners. A January 2025 TDOC month-end report counted 210 people against 216 beds, including county and TDOC categories, with 36.7 percent in pretrial categories. These figures describe one day's population. They are not a release total, booking count, annual turnover measure, or average stay.
The Tennessee Commission on Correction listed the Henderson facility as certified and inspected in May 2025. Track Henderson Jail Transfers
When the jail names TDOC as the receiving authority, use the state Felony Offender Information Lookup. FOIL covers people currently or formerly in Tennessee felony custody or supervision and may show status, assigned location, offenses, sentence data, and release information. It is not a database of every Henderson County arrest. Someone released on county bond who never entered TDOC felony jurisdiction may have no FOIL record.
A federal transfer calls for the BOP locator only when a federal sentence applies. An immigration transfer calls for ICE’s detainee locator.
